Careers

At Fabric Printer, work means helping small garment and textile businesses print better, faster and with less waste. Based in Wadeville, Germiston, we support customers across South Africa and look for people who are practical, steady and ready to learn.

Work That Supports Real Production Floors

We hire people who understand that a print shop is only as good as its uptime, colour accuracy and support response. Our team deals with direct-to-fabric inkjet printers, heat presses, inks, installation work and after-sales care for clients in Johannesburg, Pretoria, Durban, Cape Town and Bloemfontein. That means your work has a direct effect on someone’s orders, deadlines and cash flow.

If you enjoy hands-on technical work, clear communication and solving problems under pressure, this could be a good fit. We value people who can work neatly, keep records properly and treat every site visit or phone call with care.

Roles We Commonly Hire For

We do not only look for machine technicians. A healthy support business needs people with different strengths, from customer-facing communication to service work in the field. Some roles suit people who are technical, while others suit people who can organise, train or sell with confidence.

  • Sales and customer support for print equipment and consumables
  • Installation and commissioning of printers and heat presses
  • Training for operators and workshop teams
  • Service and maintenance, including printhead cleaning and ink system flushing
  • Ink, media and colour support
  • Admin and client follow-up for quotations, bookings and maintenance contracts

What We Expect From Applicants

We look for honesty, punctuality and a willingness to learn. Experience in garment printing, digital print, heat transfer or technical service is useful, but strong people skills and a good work ethic matter just as much. You should be comfortable working with customers in busy production spaces, including areas affected by load-shedding, limited storage and tight turnaround times.

  • Matric or relevant industry experience
  • Clear spoken and written English, with Afrikaans or isiZulu an advantage
  • Basic computer literacy for reporting and job notes
  • Willingness to travel to client sites when needed
  • Ability to work neatly around inks, heat and production equipment

How We Work On Site And In The Office

Our day-to-day work includes Germiston, Boksburg and Midrand support visits, as well as remote troubleshooting for customers further afield. Some jobs involve setting up equipment in a new workshop, while others require checking print quality, advising on colour profiling or helping a client recover after a breakdown. Coastal humidity in Durban and Cape Town can affect storage and maintenance, so practical thinking matters.

We expect team members to follow safety steps, keep tools in order and respect municipal and site rules when working on customer premises. This is not a job for guesswork. It is about doing the basics properly so the client can keep production moving.

Training, Growth And Practical Support

We support learning on the job, especially for people who want to grow into technical, sales or training roles. Team members may work alongside experienced staff on installations, servicing, production audits or client training. We also value people who can explain procedures simply, because many of our customers are small businesses building their first in-house printing setup.

  • Hands-on exposure to printers, heat presses and consumables
  • Mentoring from experienced team members
  • Opportunities to build product, service and training knowledge
  • Exposure to customers across several provinces
